Eligibility

For First Year (Regular Scheme)

Candidates seeking admission to the First Year Diploma Course must have passed the 10th Standard (SSLC) examination or an equivalent examination approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Students with a strong interest in science and mathematics are encouraged to apply, as the program offers a solid foundation in technical education and practical skills. There is no age limit for admission to the diploma course.

For Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry Scheme)

Candidates are eligible for Direct Second Year (Lateral Entry) admission if they have successfully completed:

• HSC (10+2) with subjects such as Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Computer Science / Electronics / Information Technology / Biology / Agriculture / Engineering Graphics / Vocational Subjects, or
• ITI (2 years) course in any trade approved by NCVT / SCVT.

Lateral entry students are admitted directly into the second year (third semester) of the diploma program. This scheme is ideal for students who have already acquired basic technical training and wish to enhance their qualifications with a recognized diploma.

Documents Required

For First Year Admission:

• SSLC Mark Sheet or Equivalent Certificate
• Transfer Certificate (T.C.) from the last studied institution
• Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended
• Community Certificate (for BC / MBC / SC / ST categories)
• Recent Passport Size Photos – 3 Nos.
• Stamp Size Photos – 2 Nos.

For Lateral Entry Admission:

• HSC / ITI Mark Sheets and Course Completion Certificate
• Transfer Certificate (T.C.) and Conduct Certificate
• Community Certificate (if applicable)
• Recent Passport Size Photos – 3 Nos.
• Stamp Size Photos – 2 Nos.

Applicants are advised to keep several photocopies of all original documents for their personal use before submitting them to the college.

Passing Requirements

To complete the diploma program, students must meet the academic standards prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), Chennai.

A student shall be declared to have passed a subject if he/she secures:

• Minimum 40% in Theory (internal + board exam)
• Minimum 50% in Practical (sessional + board exam)
• At least 30 marks out of 75 in Board Theory
• At least 35 marks out of 75 in Board Practical

Regular attendance, timely submissions, and active participation in class and lab activities are mandatory to maintain academic progress and exam eligibility.
